Joomla

Joomla is an open source content management system (CMS) which provides an automated website building tool for creating a website around custom content. The Joomla CMS is written in PHP scripting language, it’s flexible, and includes many features that allow posting content both on the internet and to an intranet. Joomla users can pick from thousands of extensions and applications written by third parties that help them create, grow and maintain enterprise website, some for free and some for a fee.  Users can select pre-created ‘skins’ on templates to initiate or embellish their website, and then search through forums and Joomla specific resources to discover tricks and enhancements others are using.  The system has been in use since the end of 2006 and over the years has gained global popularity.
