A Call to Action (CTA) is an advertising and marketing concept, a way to persuade a person to ‘do something’, and perform a desired action. It is often the next step that the visitor could take toward the purchase of a product or service. It should be defined from the start because this is how a website can successfully convert visitors into leads into customers.
A call to action aims to persuade a visitor to perform a certain act immediately, “Buy Now!” and “Sign Up Today!” are some common Call to Action examples. The call to action is intended to improve the market’s response rate to the ad copy, as its absence may cause a visitor to leave the website without a lead or purchase. Websites, advertisements and landing pages without CTAs tend to have lower conversion rates, and are considered ineffective for conversions.
