Search Engine

The search engine is an internet-based tool that people utilize in order to easily find relevant information. After entering a search term, users receive a long list of results. Clicking a link on one of those results redirects them to a website relevant to the search criteria. In the field of website promotion, a company’s website popularity is linked to the issue of a company’s website ranking, and the higher a website is ranked by the search engines, the more traffic it will receive (the goal is to appear on the first page of the search results). Therefore, there is great importance in promoting a website according to relevant and popular user search terms. The search engine is comprised of a crawler, index, and various algorithms that are responsible for the order in which the search results are presented to users. The most popular search engine today is Google.
